Quincy,
IL - State
Representative Jil
Tracy (R-Mt. Sterling)
was awarded the “Champion
of Free Enterprise
Award” and
named “Outstanding
Freshman” by
the Illinois Chamber
of Commerce for
2007 and 2008.
“It is a
great honor to be
recognized by the
Illinois Chamber
for supporting policies
that will provide
good jobs to the
hardworking men
and women of this
state,” said
Rep. Tracy. “We
must continue fighting
higher taxes and
encourage growth
by opening up our
markets and creating
new business opportunities
for the citizens
of Illinois.”
The “Champion
of Free Enterprise
Award” is
presented to legislators
every two years
based on their voting
records. Members
of the General Assembly
who have at least
an 85% pro-jobs
record are eligible
to receive the honor.
“As our economy
continues to struggle
and unemployment rates
are at the highest
level in decades,
it is important to
ensure the legislature
and state officials
implement policies
that encourage business
growth and keep jobs
within Illinois borders,” Representative
Tracy said. “I
will continue working
with the Illinois
Chamber of Commerce
in order to promote
a positive business
climate and improve
the lives of Illinois
families.” |
